4 painted ceramic sculptures by Candido Fior, 1980s
These 4 bivalve terracotta sculptures were created by artist and ceramicist Candido Fior in the 1980s in a small series, in his laboratory in San Martino di Lupari.
They are pieces that fit fully into Fior's early production, depicting figures inspired by the plant and animal kingdoms in a naive style, with an interpretation that is rich in imagination rather than simply figurative.
They consist of two engobio-painted ceramic bodies, inside of which a seed is housed. Three of them, while at first glance identical, differ in the coloring of the slight details, and the fourth is in natural terracotta.
All pieces are signed and remain in very good vintage condition, with slight signs of use, except for the terracotta-colored one that had broken in half and was professionally restored. Nevertheless, the joint line remains visible as shown in the photo.
We have other Fior pieces within our inventory.
