Mod. 399 floor lamp for O-Luce
Statement floor lamp designed by the Ostuni & Forti duo (Angelo Ostuni and Renato Forti) for O-Luce, the Milan company founded by Angelo's brother, Giuseppe Ostuni.
In this model, the designers add the element of the Cornalux bulb to their research on the reading lamp - rigorous minimalism combined with maximum functionality.
The structure of the lamp, in nickel-plated brass, is given by the elegant union of the circular base with the cylindrical rod on which the lamp holder slides, as a completely autonomous and removable element. The latter, also in nickel-plated brass, is comprised of a perspex gripper which, once pressed, allows the lamp holder to move along the stem. The Cornalux bulb, thanks to the partial shielding offered by the silver paint covering half of its cap, thus also incorporates the role of a lampshade, and can also be oriented by turning the rear part of the lamp holder, so as to better illuminate the desired area.
A black-painted metal cylinder is inserted along the cable, with a hook that ensures that the wire remains adhered to the stem.
This historic lamp, original in every part and incredibly ahead of its time, is preserved in excellent vintage condition.
Cornalux bulb is not included, unless requested by the customer, at cost price.
