Angelo Ostuni
Angelo Ostuni (1904-1981) was a Milan-based lighting designer whose rational, mechanically precise approach shaped post-war Italian domestic lighting. Alongside his brother Giuseppe’s firm O-Luce, Ostuni worked closely with Ditta Frangi, a Milan manufacturer that produced components and, for some models, complete lamps based on Ostuni’s adjustable mechanisms. He was a large contributor to O-Luce’s catalog in the 1950s. With Renato Forti, Ostuni refined a family of reading lamps using half-silvered Cornalux bulbs to control glare while keeping silhouettes minimal—an engineering-led elegance that remains central to his legacy.
