Giulio Alchini, born near Trento (Italy) in 1926, was the heir of a family tradition of cabinetmakers. He studied in Venice at Scuola d’Arte dei Carmini. His style was influenced by the works of Henry Moore and Le Corbousier, De Stijl and Piet Mondrian. He divided his research between architecture, scenography, design, painting and sculpture. He presented a side table at Biennale’s decorative art pavillion in 1950. His brilliant carreer was abruptly stopped by his death, in 1958, before he would turn 32.
