Renato Forti (1923-2015) was a milanese designer. From 1946 he worked under Angelo Ostuni, refining metalwork and furniture/lighting design. From the late 1940s through the 1960s he collaborated with O-Luce—often alongside Ostuni—developing precise, adjustable reading lamps that became signatures of the brand. In the 1950s, he designed furniture and complements for Frangi, carrying the same mechanical clarity into desks and storage. Hi most renown design is the modular F54 bookshelf. He was also the craftsman who produced most of the company's pieces, and from 1968 took over Frangi's management. In 1980 he closed his workshop and licensed his furniture designs to Mc Selvini on limited-run productions.
Forti’s output is valued for its user-centric mechanics, minimal silhouettes, and the Milanese blend of craft and industrial rigor fostered by O-Luce.
