Vico Magistretti
Vico Magistretti (Milan, 1920–2006) was an architect and industrial designer central to postwar Italian design. Celebrated for rigorously functional forms with an elemental clarity, he worked across furniture and lighting with firms such as Cassina, Artemide, De Padova, and Alias. A longtime educator at the Royal College of Art in London, Magistretti influenced generations of designers while advancing a humane modernism that balanced technical logic with everyday use.
