“Alfiere” adjustable floor lamp for Artemide
SOLD

This floor lamp was designed by Enzo Mari in 1997 and manufactured by Artemide. It is a rare piece, hybridating the traditional structure of a reading lamp with a strong postmodern apperance, obtained with a careful use of materials and construction. Its structure is made by a gray-painted steel base and a chrome-plated stem united to the base with the help of a pressure joint that allows the user to adjust the stem's height (from 150 to 220 cm) and to freely rotate the stem. Also the shade is made of two part: the upper end is made of a metachrilate joint that connects with the chrome stem, while the lower diffuser is made of a satin aluminum. The shade can also rotate freely, therefore the lamp can give many lighting options. When lit, the light is directed downwards by the aluminum shade, but a small amount of it is also diffused in the room thanks to the transparent metachrilate part.
This lamp still retains its original Artemide tag, and remains in overall very good condition except from one defect: the plastic joint was cracked (but not broken), so we have restored the crack with epoxy resin. The crack is therefore still visible (see picture n.3) but now solid.
