“Gill 45” large table lamp by Roberto Pamio for Leucos 1960s

This large table lamp, model "Gill 45", was designed by architect Roberto Pamio for Leucos in the late 1960s.

The lamp is composed by a varnished metal base on which a sculptural Murano glass lampshade, with a flattened sphere shape, sits in place. The glass is partially transparent and partially opaline, with the opal part creating an irregular shape, so its appearance is different if the shape is rotated. The original switch allows to dim the light source.

This iconic piece is the larger lamp of the Gill series, which comprises also a ceiling and a wall lamp. Its large size and the beautiful light it projects makes it a very impactful lamp, an icon of Italian design between 1960s and 1970s.  The item it's fully original in all its parts and remains in excellent vintage conditions, with very small signs of wear and use, still retaining its original "Leucos" label.
