Designed in 1977 for Italian lighting firm Sirrah, the “Sirio T” stands among Kazuhide Takahama’s most incisive explorations of architectural lighting. This set comprises two preowned, out-of-production examples that retain their original black finish and hallmark red control details, as pictured.
The structure uses industrial metal profiles varnished in black to draw a crisp, graphic silhouette. A pivoting head allows the diffuser to orient upward for ambient bounce light or downward to spotlight a reading area or artwork. The proportion of the slender shaft to the angular head and Y-shaped foot gives the lamp a poised, linear presence—expressive minimalism achieved with rigorously simple means.
Technically, both pieces are dimmable: one via the original integrated control on the stem, the other through a pedal dimmer switch. Light traces of wear to the varnish are consistent with careful domestic use; overall presentation is clean and well preserved. We sell the lamps by piece or as a pair.
Takahama—who settled in Italy in the late 1950s and collaborated closely with Dino Gavina—brought a disciplined, refined language to Italian industry, here balancing clarity of line with lighting performance. The Sirio T remains rewarding for both use and display, a versatile floor light for living or gallery settings.
