“Megaron” floor lamp
Totemic floor lamp by Italian designer and architect Gianfranco Frattini, designed for Artemide in 1979. A true design icon of the late XX Century. We quote the description from the book "Gianfranco Frattini. Design 1955/2003" published by Silvana Editoriale in 2023: "The megaron was the hub of the Mycenaean house and palace, and the surrounding columns were the load bearing structure. The body's two facing, close extrusion remind of this primary function, where the separation line between the two breaks and balances the extensive surface. The light source at the top bounces the dimmable indirect light off the ceiling and highlights the silhouette of the fixture."
